I was thinking today about how there are loads of video reviews of people sharing their progress with Dreaming Spanish. I think it would be cool if people did the same with Lingq. It could be based on when a person reaches each level (Beginner 2, Intermediate 1, etc). Simply because that is how Lingq is structured. And they could obviously share how many words read they have, etc.
Maybe Lingq is more geared towards reading and listening which is why most reviews are done here on the forum? In some ways I feel like Lingq should be a lot more popular than it is.
Your thoughts?
What stats should a person share when doing a review like this?
People dont really do this type of video with LIngq simply becouse one is more popular then the other, plus the Dreaming Spanish method is way more objective and direct, alot of people use Lingq difrently but must people use Dreaming Spanish in the same way, if i had more free time i would defenaly make videos about my progress using Lingq but i just cant right now. i bet its the same for alot of people
Will be doing this soon actually at November 1 for Mandarin chinese.
It will be based on taking lingq to the max in terms of listening 10,000 hours and attaining 100,000 (which is about Advance 5 in their hidden stats) known words.
There are few reviews on lingq but it’s mostly about functionality and how to use it. Videos about attaining results through Lingq are scarce and are not common due to the commitment required to attain the necessary stats to show one’s ability to speak and communicate.
A person should share their amount of time listening, known words, and perhaps speaking hours. In addition, amount of lingqs created will be the additional reliable source to back up one’s ability. Since those are the main factors for a person’s ability to function in the language afterall.
Can you explain a little about the “hidden stats” you mentioned. I have seen posts with people talking about Advanced 3 or Advanced 4, etc. But I never understood what they were referring to.
Basically, Lingq has a visual limit at Advance 2 but there are levels higher than that. Not sure of the reason why but it could be just to motivate a small minority of learners to surpass the limit.
