More keyboard shortcut customization

As a long time LingQ user, i think it would really be beneficial to be able to customize all of the controls to my desired keys in order to improve workflow. If possible it would be nice if mouses with extra buttons was also compatible as well.

As of right now the only way to customize this is to install third party extensions but it would be nice if this was added.

Yes.
If you can customise a mouse, you can use existing shortcuts to do one thing at a time - ah, on the web version.
If you can cope with it threatening to add unwanted words, sentence mode cna show a sentence biglingually with audio on one key press.
A Stream deck can customise buttons and have them in a row; perhaps useful to you.

Customization possibility would be great (bumping :grinning_face:)

Also if any chance, please, could it be possible to add keyboard shortcuts for

  1. edit sentence;
  2. switching between page and sentence mode.

I find “Shift-T” to be classic LingQ UX stupidity.

“Translate” is one of the most common actions, perhaps the most common keyboard action, when using LingQ. Yet it is a two-key combo that is a stretch for the fingers to get right.

It’s not hard to hit “Ctr-T” in Windows then be catapulted to a new browser window with one’s concentration totally broken.

Does LingQ even consider such things?

This is UX 101 stuff.

Most multibutton mice have software to program them, I have a 7 button + scrollwheel mouse and I could bind almost every keyboard shortcut to it.

I primary use an orbweaver keypad (the best thing in the world if you have carpal tunnel). Every lingq key bind is programed onto it. Makes the workflow very streamlined.
