Makes sense

Hi, why when you say “It does make sense” the “make” is without “S” if we’re taking about a third person?

thanks

Javier

@Javier
because the “s” is on do = does, and 2 times a “s” istn’t.
(but I’m no tutor, I am a learner too)

If you are a the suitable membership you can ask all your wuestions a tutor so often you want. Then the answer is really correct
Bye - Irene

sorry - if you have a suitable membership

You can say “It makes sense”.

From what I understand; when you use, does, you use the base form of the verb not the present simple.

 DOES WITHOUT DOES

It does go faster. It goes faster.
It does eat a lot. It eats a lot.
It does get hot in here. It gets hot in here.

Here it is again.

You can say “It makes sense”.

DOES
It does go faster.
It does eat a lot.
It does get hot in here.

WITHOUT DOES
It gets hot in here.
It goes faster.
It eats a lot.
