Allow users to customize the SRS (Spaced Repetition System) review / flashcard page with more options, such as choosing which fields to show, changing card layout, controlling what information is displayed during review sessions.
I just wanted to ask whether there are any plans to improve the flashcards feature.
I actually like using flashcards because I think they can be very helpful for people who have limited study time or struggle to remember certain words. One improvement I would love to see is a smarter spaced repetition system. For example, if a word is answered incorrectly, it could appear again much sooner—perhaps after a few minutes, then a few hours later, and so on until the learner answers it correctly consistently.
I also think the flashcards could be improved visually to make them more engaging and easier to use.
Another idea would be to use AI to generate better example sentences for vocabulary words. Sometimes the original sentence from a book or lesson is not the best for memorization. AI could create clearer, more memorable, and more natural examples that help learners understand and remember the word more effectively.
Just a few suggestions. Overall, I enjoy using LingQ and would love to see the flashcards become even more powerful.
We have no immediate plans to work on our SRS system, although we would like to get to improving our flashcards before too long. Because we feel the majority of your review does take place naturally while reading, we are more focused on improving in that area.
However, with regard to your idea of generating examples, if you go to the LingQ AI chatbot and ask it to generate examples using vocabulary from a recent lesson, it will do that for you now. You do have to be a Plus member for this to work.
