Actually, I was able to repair it for 5K coins. For some reason, system asked me about it only after I’ve written this request.

No, the system asks you “every” time whether you want to repair your
streak for 5K coins (or not) after you’ve lost it:
Been there, done that - several times 
This is a system function being triggered automatically the
next day. In other words, it doesn t depend on whether we write
“streak repair” requests
