Good day. My problem with lingq in Persian is that there are some beginner resources where, contrary to how it’s usually done in the language and the lessons, the short vowels are indicated by diacritical marks. Now when I mark سلام as known (in a “normal” lesson where the standard writing is used), سَلام (some beginner lessons use this to facilitate reading) would still be marked as unknown. This is a problem when I want to work through texts that use these diacritical marks, for now I would only have unknown words there and mark them all as known which is just cheating and destroys all measurability for me and all the fun. So I don’t do them or mark every single word with diacritical marks as “ignored”.
I wonder how others handle this. And if maybe the lingq devs could do something about this, so that diacritical marks are kind of visible for us but don’t alter the word in a way that marks it to the system as something different. سَلام would then be the same as سلام. There are whole courses I shy away from because I would collect hundreds of words in minutes, distorting my word count.
This in theory should also apply to Arabian and Hebrew.
