LingQ, you need better bookmarks!

Some LingQ features exist, then they disappear, then they come back…

I use LingQ to read books that span multiple “lessons”. Because of the well-documented problem with LingQ’s choice to treat unclicked words as “known” (see "Finish Lesson" -- Why assume un-clicked words are known?), I rarely can click “complete” on a lesson. However, if I allowed the audio to not loop back to the beginning, LingQ would show a helpful green progress bar on the chapters.

Today I find that the green progress bar is missing.

LingQ – do you have any idea how a simple thing like that can prevent progress?

Every other e-reader allows me to pick up where I left off. With LingQ (today), I have to carefully mark in notes (outside of LingQ) where I left off so I can pick it back up. Sometimes the audio and text is not aligned. This pain point causes me to use other tools out in the wild to continue my language progress.

Requests to LingQ

  1. Reconsider your stance on un-clicked words and “lesson completion”!
  2. Provide a “bookmark button” or automated bookmark feature so I can find my place in my multi-lesson book later (both in audio and text)

Something additional: When you switch to sentence view, you need to select a word before returning to text view otherwise you will go to the first page of your text.

Thank you, @nicolasbrunel ! I encountered the problem but had not found a workaround!

Yes, I also think it would be possible to add a bookmark feature!
