Lingq browser import extension not working!

@Zoran: After updating the add-on under Firefox to version 2.3.5 I still get the errors.

I now have reverted to the former version 2.2.22. This one is still working fine!

If anyone is interested: You can find the older versions under https://addons.mozilla.org/

Search for LingQ and then click on ‘Show all versions’

Today I tried to download YT video again (I use Chrome browser). For a long time I haven’t managed it.
So, today I managed to download 6 videos and LingQ failed for one time (it downloaded only a part of lesson), but when I tried again with the specific video, I did it.
Am I hoping that the issue is solved?

Hi everyone! The Lingq importer extension is working properly under Firefox. I have changed to Firefox because it wasn’t working lately under Brave. So if any of you want to avoid this issue, simply install Firefox and everything will be fine!

It’s actually not. I just removed and readded the extension and it still isn’t working. I’m using Firefox.

With Version 2.2.15, I can see the option to import but it doesn’t work. With the current version of Firefox, I haven’t even the option anymore to import stuff.

The Import function is absolutely essential for Lingq and thus I’m really hoping you’re going to fix it soon.

I’ve tried disabling other extensions as well, but it didn’t change anything.

@Whakahoatanga Are you on the Firefox extension version 2.3.5?

I’m on 2.3.4 and it works fine for me again.

The quick import function on LingQ app is still not working for me. Updated to the newest version but the issue remains.

@Proomu Are you on iOS or Android?

Still not working for me with version 2.3.5 at Firefox. It worked once and then stopped working again, the extension just says “loading” and never ends. The Android app hasn`t been fixed as well, giving the “file is empty” message.

I had the same problem right now and found a fix for Firefox. Maybe Chrome and other browsers have the same problem.

In my case the browser seems to have removed all permissions for the addon, e.g. for accessing lingq.com. I enabled the permissions again and it now works again.

Howto (translated to English by me, my browser is set to German so it might be a bit different for the English version):

  • click the burger menu button (the three lines that kind of resemble a burger) in your toolbar
  • choose “addons and themes”
  • look for the addon “LingQ Importer”
  • click on its button with the three dots (…)
  • click on “manage” (or whatever it is called in English) in the menu
  • on the top there are three tabs, click on “permissions”
  • there are sliders and for me, all were disabled; activate the sliders for the websites LingQ should be able to access, in any case you have to enable it for lingq.com

That’s it, it now works again.

@Atlan Android app is still waiting for an update. We will release it soon.

That´s not the problem for me. The permissions are all enabled, and it doesn`t work anyway. The extension displays “loading” indefinitely and never begins.

It seems to be ok now.

I have a paid account of the New York Times. The browser extension worked for me in the past. Now, it does not. I get the following message: “Error: Importing failed - 500: Could not download page (403)”. I am using chrome. But I also tried Firefox. Both are not working.

@Matthias_576 I suppose you are on the latest extension version?
