Just wanted to report the latest update to the website and the app seems to have redone/broken Japanese parsing on lessons that were already in progress and had already been processed with AI. These are now showing blue words all over with unnecessary pairings (word with particles) or phrases as if they were words. It’s as if my previous ‘regenerate with AI’ had been reverted. I have tried reapplying it for one lesson and it returned to ‘normal’. However, it seems this is probably the case with all my lessons and may just have reverted months of progress.
I’m currently reading Korean ebooks on here but I pulled up a Japanese ebook I had uploaded a while back. I am not sure but I think the parsing was bad when I uploaded this book several months ago too. If you turn on the show spacing option you can see how awful LingQ is at determining the spaces. 15 years ago I think this was a lot more forgivable than it is now. I’m going to just read my Japanese books on my Kindle instead.

i just noticed this happened to me too the day before yesterday. I was halfway through a lesson i imported and i noticed that everything i read previously had a bunch of new blue words in it. I was very confused. I was like “i know for sure i went through this” i thought i was going crazy for a sec
I also have the same problem.
for the benefit of others, it seems the method to break up the sentence is treating the “object marker” as part of the object. e.g. instead of treating 車と as two vocabulary it’s been thread as a single word.

I also have this issue, I hope it’s fixed soon (I see the last post here was 4 days ago) because like the others have pointed out, all my prior work is messed up and filled with blue words when it shouldn’t be. I’d also like to point out that the many errors in the mini-stories for Japanese are pretty demotivating to see. Grammar mistakes in the sentences, furigana errors, simple formatting errors, errors in the audio… I get it when its something you’ve imported, but these are Ling-Q produced stories and the cornerstone of what beginners are supposed to use. It would be simple and inexpensive to have an editor and a native speaker work on it for like half a day and make it perfect for all the learners present and future, rather than sit forever with all the errors.
Any update on this? Is it working for anyone? My LingQ for Japanese is still unusable, with tons of words in blue that I’ve already cleared. First post about it above was 9 days ago.

Thanks @zoran, I still have lessons that are blue, some seems to resolve. As an example, this is LingQ’s own mini story. Do I need to do anything myself to the lesson?
As the other poster mentioned, its still not fixed. Most of my prior completed work is still filled with blue words when it shouldnt be.
@mark88899 How many lessons are affected by this? Are these only lessons you completed while the issue was present?
I’ve done, in total, about 20 mini stories, over the last few months. It looks like all or just about all of them are affected.
Still broken for me as well. I am not sure why this update was ever implemented in the first place, why retroactively reparse people’s lessons without asking? If I make a new lesson it parses fine but the content made by other people I have been using is now useless
I attempted to manually edit each sentence to see if it was viable but it takes about 30 seconds for a simple sentence, meaning the half a chapter of Harry Potter I was trying to fix would take an hour to fix. It really just isn’t worth it. For people who are new to Japanese they don’t even know what to parse. Fortuitiously my LingQ premium subscription is up in exactly one month, I probably won’t renew if this is not going to be fixed or if similar issues are going to be a regular problem in the future. In it’s current state I can I get 90% of what LingQ does for free at mild cost of some convenience.
