I somehow participate in a language cup, not sure what it is yet (it is new to me), but it does look engaging.
Anyway, for some reason I’m on Italian team, can I be moved to Croatian since I’m much more focused on that language? Thx
Unfortunately, once you join a cup in a specific language, it can’t be changed.

I’m a little curious about how the language cup scores are calculated, since I’m in a language with fewer learners and a handful of participants in the cup, does that mean our score is hit more by users who sign up and then don’t log on, since they make up a higher proportion of our team? Or is it more complex than that
It’s more complex than that. We try hard to not punish teams under 50 users, and we try to attribute a balanced score to all teams. Which team are you on?
I’m on Irish, initially it was more of a worry when we had two active users and maybe 3-5 with nothing or next to nothing tracked, usually in online team games like this there’s some kind of kick for inactivity and the worry was there wasn’t much to balance without it.
We don’t count users who haven’t contributed and we balance things out further.
It is a very good idea. I hope it will become a regular thing and I’ll make sure I participate in a language I actually learn.
Although there are obviously some bugs like there is a person that made almost 400k coins in about a day in a language in which they know just 46 words. 
Yeah, seems like they are a problem, we have already removed them one time, guess they didnt get the message. There will always be cheaters on any of these things.
That’s good. Because I’m on the Tagalog team and a 4th member joined who has been on LingQ since 2021 and has 0 known words, 0 lingqs, etc. all time.
As a new user of Lindq, I find this cup thing very engaging. Many thanks to those who organize it. Too bad, though, that you can only belong to one team (I would really need to also work on my English instead of focusing on Italian, as one can see reading this message.)
