Known word count do you include non target language words or peoples names

I manually change my words from unkown to known but not sure how to treat non target language words for example english words in when learning spanish. Also what to do with peoples names?

I press the bin icon except:

  • when the language I learn is not a Latin alphabet one,
  • if it is a name of a place I want to store information about

I used to use the bin icon to ignore people’s names, etc., since I don’t think they should be included in the count of the target language words I know. However, I noticed that some long-ish lessons took a very long time to be reactive each time I flipped a page (on my computer). After doing some research, I found a post stating that this slowdown could be caused (partly) by having a large number of “ignored words”. I started to systematically change the status of any “ignored word” to “known word” and, after a while, (coincidentally?) the site responsiveness improved.

I ignore them. Borrowed english words ill keep if the spelling is different. Names I ignore as well unless for some reason its a target language word being used as a name
