Japanese Hiragana phonetics are constantly wrong

There are constantly errors in the “spelt out hiragana of words.” I don’t really know what to call it (I have a photo for reference). The word in the photo is already hiragana, and this new awful ai is getting it wrong? してもいたい and they are telling me this pronunciation is してもいたい. It’s annoying when it yells out the wrong thing when you are reading it out, but at least if it’s hiragana you know you are right (and it is wrong), but it makes these same mistakes when there is kanji too, which is a way bigger problem, because it forces me to leave lingq and go to another website to check. The whole point of lingq is everything is in one place, so when we are paying a lot of money for cheap useless AI it’s pretty annoying.

for Japanese i highly recommend installing the plugin yomitan because its more accurate and you can easily install your own dictionaries. I use that for all of my definitions on lingq plus not all of the lingq’s are done correctly automatically so you can use Yomitan to help make correct lingqs. Its free and its helped me a ton.

I second the Yomitan suggestion. I use it for Japanese and Greek and I love it.

You can even make a Yomitan dictionary with your lingqs and combine it with an authoritative dictionary with correct kana readings. I rarely use lingqs anymore, they require too much work.

Note that available dictionaries are specially good for Japanese, but other languages also have free dictionaries via kaikki-to-yomitan.

Hello @Yuribus Could you please provide a link to this lesson.

When this lesson was created? We have already fixed some issues with words splitting Japanese, and for new lessons it should be okay now.

It was made the same day I made the post. I imported the video and transcript from youtube, and then that. I only posted that one because it was the last straw.

Ok cool, I’ll give it a go. A bit annoying that it is even necessary…

my two languages too! Ill give it a go

how do I do that? (random words to reach the 20 character limit)

just copy the URL from the browser when lesson is opened and paste it here. Thank you :hibiscus:

Sorry for the late reply.

around page 10 (depends on your screen size)

Hi @Yuribus thank you for sharing. Could you please check, it should be better now.
