I am curious to see what kind of content Italian learners on LingQ are using to learn Italian. Personally I try to use a wide variety of real content (i.e. content made principally for fluent Italian speakers), sources which I have categorized as follows:
News - Italian websites with news articles
YouTube Channels/Radio/Videos - videos I watch either on YouTube directly or import into LingQ
Books - places I can obtain books, whether it is for LingQ import or not
I think it would be cool to aggregate the variety of sources people use here. This way we could all spend less time looking for content and more time actually learning So here we go (I will edit with any input I may receive):
Cool, thanks, I added them to the list! I have yet to really delve much into news for my Italian so that will be helpful for sure.
Unfortunately I am not at a good enough level really to do much radio (still dependent on text for support), but hopefully I will get there soon as well
I’ve just started with Italian, but in order to keep myself engaged, I prefer fiction. I’ve found several novels in PDF form. The Godfather, Stephen King’s The Stand, etc. I’m just working my Italian up to the level that I can actually read them without having to look up almost every word. I’ve imported The Stand, and it broke down to 76 lessons. I might start dabbling in it a little bit.
My goal is very similar to yours, to be able to understand text and videos without having to look up words all the time. While I agree that it’s a great idea to focus on fiction, especially if you already know those books, I find, however, often that fiction books are more difficult to do than nonfiction at lower levels.
I can’t seem to be able to edit my original post, but I have discovered some more sources that seem interesting if you are ever looking for physical books:
