Is there some way to import with files?

In the old system we could import lessons using files.

With the new one I have been having to copy the transcript into a copy & paste buffer and then paste it in so I could use the Import / Type or Paste link.

It seems much less convenient than it used to be, because also I can’t set all the other stuff up.

Is there any way I can simply create a new lesson, without having to copy & paste the text or go hunting through various screens, when I already have in my hands (a) a youtube url and (b) an audio recording and (c) a file of the transcript ?

There’s a clear option of text files and ebooks, better yet, just use the ‘import lessons in bulk’ option, even for single files.

But, I am not importing an ebook, so that looks like the wrong button.
I tried it anyway, but it appears to be only for when you have one text file.
I have a text file AND an audio AND a video url.

And I tried the “import lessons in bulk”, which seems neat, but it creates a brand new course.
The courses are already a cluttered mess (because there appears to be no way to organize or categorize them), and I definitely don’t want to make them worse by making a new course for every single import.

How can I use “import lessons in bulk” without making new courses?

If the text file and audio file have the same name, then import in bulk with automatically match them. Unfortunately, you have to add a video URL separately, but that was always the case. It is set to automatically create a new course with the title of the first file, but there’s an option to specify which course you want to add to or create a new one.

@zorbital You should be able to import into existing course too. What exactly do you see?

Ok, thanks. Clearly I do not understand the batch import very well yet.

I dislike the regular import because it presents four options and if you click one to see what it can do, you cannot tell, because everything is hidden on following screens that you cannot see.

So the batch import seems the way to solve that problem for now–to avoid having to hesitate and wonder what to click.

Although it would still be better, in my mind, if they would give us back the old style that would present a big dialog where you could configure lots of stuff and see what was possible right up front.
