Is there a word limit to how much of a book can be imported at one time?

I found a site with 100 books in Spanish that are public domain. I downloaded the pdf to my computer of one of the books and it imported only part of it. Only about 28 pages of think about 250 that are in the book.
This may be a link to it:

I think the problem you’re running into is the formatting in the PDF, not the length of it.

If you have Micrsoft Word, you can import the PDF and then copy the text for each chapter into the lesson in LingQ.

Myself, I’m rather wary of using 19th century reading material. Sure, they’re free of copyright, but the words are usually not the same as used today. So you can be reading esoteric vocabulary that nobody speaks in today’s world.

Epubs work better. I imported an epub with over 1 million words (I didn´t even realise).

I have exactly the same problem with importing longer YouTube videos. I found a 2 hour long podcast and the lesson only ended up including about 40 minutes worth.

There is a limit I think this is around 40-45 minutes in length. You can’t import very long videos.

with Calibre ebook conversion software (free to download and set up)you can simply convert to txt format and delete all the irrelevant parts such as extra information related to author’s books, quotes, bibliography and so on, I never had issues with importing ebooks with the txt format.

I think you just need to wait a bit. It doesn’t show all the lessons after you import a book. Step by step you’ll see all the lessons of the book appearing. IF this doesn’t happen after a few hours, or maybe even one day, then you should write to support.

As @asad100101 said, videos have a limit in minutes and in megabytes, maybe 60mb, I don’t remember, it should be written somewhere, and a message should appear after you have tried to upload a long video. I’ve uploaded countless books on .txt format as well, and never had any issues so far.

I didn’t know about this before. But I saw this happen when I imported a long pod, over 1 hour long, and only one part of it was shown when I opened it. I thought there was some problem with the import, but i didn’t care to much. But some days later the whole pod was available in Linq. I was surprised to see this happen. I haven’t seen any information about this behaviour in the help text or anywhere else.

yeah, this info didn’t appear in the past, then I saw them appearing at some point, maybe they don’t appear again. But there is a limit for videos/audios, both in terms of length and mb. I don’t do that anymore so I’m not updated on the limits.

One thing you can do if it’s important, and really want to study/learn a long video, it’s to extract the mp3 of the video with an online tool, download it and split it with audacity or similar software. Then upload the audio files to LingQ, and self-generate the text from there.
