Importing Text keeps failing

image
The text just says it failed to save
For some reason lately i am unable to import text. It works randomly and i dont see any work around.

Sorry to hear that. What exactly did you try to import? Were you importing manually through the import lesson page?

Hey there! I was just importing plain text manually not through the extension. Just copy and paste

I tried converting the plain text into different formats, importing through mobile and nothing seemed to work. The only thing that works kind of is importing just a few lines of the text. This happened once before but the next day it worked but now its broken again.

Thanks, we will investigate that.

Same for me. A book I wanted to import just randomly fails at some point I couldnโ€™t pinpoint so far, even when I manually copy short sections of it lesson by lesson. So both the manual lesson import and the automatic ebook import just fail all the time.

We are working on this and we will have it fixed asap.

Here is a portion of the Japanese text that i am unable to upload as well as some help from @roosterburton He said this

โ€œI assume one of the characters is causing issues. Importing the text returns a generic 500 error, importing the first 2 lines succeeds.
Converting it to a webvtt file LingQ complains that it has DRM - I can only assume there is a problematic character. You should send it to LingQ supportโ€

I have no problem putting the text on any other website so im stumped.

I was not able to find hidden characters.

The issue seems to happen with the last three characters ใ“ใจใฃ

I could reproduce the issue with just trying to import a lesson with those three manually written. Just type kototte and remove the te. Try to import it and see it crash.

Edit: Since it seems to work, I would just remove the final ใฃ and call it a day. Or wait for them to fix it by the third Trump mandate :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

So that was just a snippet but i just tried removing all of the ใฃ from the lesson and it worked! That is so strange though how that was the only thing that it couldnt import. Also i had already imported a big chung of the text before and its from the same source so im just so confused but either way thank you for giving me that idea. I have spent all day trying to remove everything

We will do our best to have this fixed asap.

Whatever youโ€™ve done in the meantime, it worked. I could import my book and open all the lessons without any problems :+1:
