I have not been importing longer texts using the LingQ importer for a while. Those texts used to be split into several shorter lessons. Today, however, only the first part was imported and the rest of the text is missing (I tried to import a text from The New Yorker). I received a message that the text was “successfully imported” though. Doesn’t the LingQ importer work for longer texts anymore? What’s the solution here? Thanks in advance for your help.
Yes, longer texts are still split into parts (6000 words in a limit for a lesson). However, in this case, I suspect the problem is because The New Yorker has a paying subscription for reading full articles, and they might be blocking the importing of whole texts. Do you have a problem with that source only?
Thank you for your answer, Zoran. I bought a subscription of The New Yorker, but the problem remains unsolved. I tried to import the following text: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2024/12/16/president-emmanuel-macron-has-plunged-france-into-chaos. It is a long text which is not imported completely by the LingQ importer. The second part is missing. Maybe a solution can be found for that problem. Please tell me if this can be fixed. Best wishes, Matthias
One option would be to copy-paste the text into a text file, and then import that file.
@Matthias_576 Buying a subscription doesn’t help, actually, sorry if you misunderstood me. Importing complete texts from The New Yorker isn’t possible because it’s a paying source, they don’t allow it. The only way to import is to copy-paste the complete text and import manually via the Import lesson page.
Okay, thank you for your reply! It is a pity that it does not work even with a subscription.
I will try it. Thank you for your idea!
