Imported Chinese creates unwanted Pinyin

I tried importing a YouTube video into LingQ using my iPad, and this is what LingQ generated: a Chinese text with pinyin of every line tacked on at the end. Is this a bug, or have I just done something wrong and there is a way to get rid of the pinyin transcription? Thanks!

Could you share the YouTube video in question?

Sometimes Chinese YouTubers will put both the Hanzi and the pinyin inside the actual subtitles. This makes it very difficult to import their videos as lessons, unfortunately.

That would explain why this is happening. The video is posted by Xiaogua Chinese and has that title Socializing for Chinese People, https://youtube.com/watch?v=Vv-2d-6u05w&si=nrlYIwmIgAwZA4Tq

Yeah, that’s the issue - The pinyin is part of the transcript. Maybe you can ask the channel if they have a pure Hanzi version of the transcript.

Thanks for figuring this out, much appreciated!
