Import YouTube videos into LingQ using the browser extension

Captions are in Chinese Traditional labeled as Chinese (Taiwan)

If you could fix this it would make a MASSIVE difference for lingq, it would be so good. There is ALOT of youtube channels providing thier own added transcriptions which are always better than the autogenerated jibberish

@alexini, ethanl - Have you tried it today? We pushed a fix for it earlier today. I think you might be pleasantly surprised. This was working previously for some language extensions but because that video had translations for Spanish - Latin America, it wasn’t working. But, all should be working now. Make sure to delete the original import from My Lessons otherwise it won’t be re-imported. Likewise, the traditional chinese captions should now import. Please let us know if they don’t.

The video was never put in my lesson but when I import it now I’m getting a different error from before:

Error:
detail: No subtitles found for 與小米合作拍片?日本哈根達斯期間限定童話口味冰?!白雪公主蘋果與愛莉絲紅茶《阿倫便利店》 - YouTube (zh-t)

thank you <33333333333333333333333333333333333 IT WORKSSSSSS
I will recommend lingQ to all my friends i hope you get a promotion Mark

@EthanL - Looks like a different issue. We’ll look into it.

Sorry for being annoying.
The text import works perfectly now which is great. However, not the audio wont import to any of my lessons. It is stuck “loading” forever. I rather have text import working than audio import as I can still listen to the video in the background. But It would be nice if this could be fixed. Here is one of the lessons i imported where the audio does not work just as an example:

Yep, i have the same problem…

i have the same problem the last few days i uploaded several videos and the audios uploaded very quickly the last two i tried to import still loading the audio after 2 days.
maybe there is a lingq server issue at the moment?

Having problems importing Korean videos. No luck so far. Any ideas?

Same problem here with the last videos I’m trying yo import.

Do the videos have closed captions? If so, and they still aren’t importing, share the url’s here.

Sorry about these issues. We are looking into it.

just dont break the text import again its way more valuable…

Thanks, it’s a great new feature, I have used it for a to least 8 videos already, just recently any new uploads don’t upload the audio. Thanks

actually the video for this has auto generated captions. Do you know if there is a way to get hold of the video’s subtitles. I’m guessing I’d have to download some video download software.

Ok, we’ll look into that thanks. I’m not aware of any way to get those subtitles that you see in the video.

Hi Mark, I hate to annoy you and I know that I have already asked 3 times but would it please be possible to add https://www.ceskatelevize.cz/ as a source for videos.? I cant wait to try out this feature and hope for a reply.

Many thanks

It’s in our list. We should get to it in the next week.

We have just added support for 3ears.com (Russian) and npo.nl (Dutch)

That audio problem should be resolved now. Please let us know if it continues happening. Sorry about that.
