Importing YouTube videos using the Chrome extension often ends with the message “It looks like no captions exist for this video.” However, at the same time the same video can be imported using the app. This is quite strange and annoying.
Can you please provide an example video with the mentioned issue? Thanks!
Also, are you sure that you are on the latest importer extension version?
Now this error is not reproduced but when it was It was permanent.
I got this error once even in the app.
Okay, thanks. Let me know if it happens again.
Here’s a new example for you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytgpYVHZsfA
I couldn’t import it with the Chome plugin, but I succesfully did it with the app
@nickolayb Strange, I was able to import it via Chrome extension without any problem. Are you on the latest Importer extension version?
This problem is still present
Another example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K10lGhZT2Y8&t=1s (Ukrainian)
The extension version is 2.3.23. It’s the latest I guess
@nickolayb Importing of that video worked fine for me again, I wasn’t able to reproduce the problem. Do you still see the same error that captions do not exist? Did you try to reinstall the extension?
Unfortunately reinstalling does not help. I still see “It looks like no captions exist for this video”
What windows version are you using?
Windows 11 24H2 build 26100.3775
Do you have another browser available to test on it and see what happens? The extension is available for Firefox, Edge and Safari.
In Edge it works. But three times had the same error in the app
Thanks, we’ll look into it.
