I’m going to the doctor’s tomorrow, so do you think you could cover my shift for me?
Question: What’s the difference between “go to the doctor’s” and “go to the doctor”?
Thank you!!

“Go to the doctor’s” is a shortened way of saying “Go to the doctor’s office.” You can also say “I’m going to the doctor tomorrow” without the “office” being implied. I think either phrase is correct.
“going to the doctor” is correct. The other will be understood but is clumsy.
By the way, I am a doctor :o)
