In the new interface, I can’t see how to remove a category (e.g., “getting started” and “trending”, etc.).
I also can’t see how to show on the home page my courses that aren’t in the “continue studying” category.

If you go under your profile picture in the top right → Settings → App Settings → General, you can add and remove topic that will appear on your homepage under the Preferred Topics section.

All your courses (your imports and courses you opened from the library) are listed under the Continue Studying shelf. Click on the View All to see expanded view and find courses/lessons you are interested in easier by using filters or different sorting.
I did that, but the topics still show up on the home page. And some of the things on the home page aren’t a preferred topic, like “trending”.
