Hello there,
I’m a new LingQ user. I know how to use the Import feature, but I’m not sure how to import a You Tube video. I don’t see a video option in the Import button drop down menu. I am learning Farsi/Persian.
Thank you
The easiest solution I’ve found is to to use the mobile app - you can “share” a YouTube video to the app, and it will be made into a lesson (assuming it has subtitles).
Thank you! I will try that
It worked! Thanks so much!
Great, glad to hear you figured it out. On the website, you can import videos via LingQ Importer Extension that is available for Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge browsers.
It would be great if you could come up with some way of using the import tool on the LingQ browser website, too. I found that you can add a YouTube link to “Video” on the Lesson Import page, but there seems to be no way to tell LingQ to use that video’s transcript as the lesson text. It wants you to add text manually (and it seems harder to access a YouTube transcript manually than it used to be…)
Given that the extension (as well the mobile Share function) can do it, it seems like it should be possible to extend that functionality to the on-site Import tool!
