What is the conversion rate on LingQ? What percentage of users are Premium, or end up becoming Premium?
I think this information is not public in almost all companies
Free version is not that helpful, so most serious learners have a subscribtion I guess.
The free version is very limited. It’s hard to get a lot of use out of it, so I imagine most people who use LingQ a lot are premium
I have purhased lifetime memberships for both German and Spanish. With this option I have a peace of mind, considering the fact that I will have access to my content on LingQ for the purpose of reading even life gets in the way. In the long term, it is still a cheaper option than enrolling in a traditional class course. If you are aiming for 2-3 years of consistent reading in a specific language than buying lifetime membership is the way to go.
Yes! I have a French lifetime subscription. So right now that I can’t afford any other subscription in my life, I also have peace of mind knowing that I can read in French as much as I want. The only downside is that I cannot jump to other languages and enjoy LingQ with them, but that’s okay. I’ll keep focusing on French until my financial situation improves.
When I first tried LingQ, I quickly realized that some features I would use are paid. I got a 1-month subcription (very cheap) to really test LingQ and see how useful it would be to me personally. I learned a lot in that month. At the time I didn’t start using LingQ, but I knew many of its features. The next year I started a new language, and realized that the LingQ features would be good for me. They were, and still are.
I don’t get lifetime subscriptions, or even annual subscriptions. I’d rather skip the discount and pay monthly. Why? Because I really don’t know what I’ll be doing 11 months from now. I’d hate to pay for a year and stop using it after 5 months.
