Active studying, maybe 4 hours. Passive studying (listening) - 13 hours. In order words, every waking moment

1-3 hours per day is the goal, but I’m lucky if I get 30 minutes into it.

I try to measure by content, I.e. 1 lesson that’s ~6000 words, aiming for two of those now. But I’ll say this if you start reading books, the amount of time it takes to study declines. That means you can study way more in less time. The time you put in sounds really great!

Three hours a day on language learning sites, plus supplementary reading, listening to podcasts, and watching Netflix and YouTube videos, etc. I feel like I could be more focused at times on grammar, but I’m also not ignoring it, either.

Korean:

  • 15 minutes of Anki
  • 25 minutes of LingQ (200 coins)

French

  • 10 minutes of LingQ (200 coins)

Depending on the mood: 0 - 90 minutes of extensive reading (French) or watching YouTube / Netflix (Korean)

My daily routine:

French: 15 minutes Anki, one hour podcasts while walking or driving, one hour LingQ.
German: 15 minutes Anki, one hour LingQ.

I might also watch the odd short YouTube video out of interest.

(japanese)
Grammar : 15 min
Anki : 15-30 min
Active immersion LingQ : 30-60 min

So around 1h to 2h of hard work per day. No passive listening.
And when I feel bad to go in Japan without knowing how to do a sentence after 600 hours, I watch 1 or 2 hours in a row some japanese shit on youtube that I don’t understand to feel more depressed. It’s pretty close to my routine.
