Hi, I m trying to learn Chinese with the help of pinyin. Being beginner these kind of lessons seem tough…m I to simply mug up the words ?
Pinyin is a romanization of the Chinese language. Although some letters are pronounced differently, like ‘zh’ and ‘r’, it’s a way to write/read a word’s pronunciation. De lines above the vowels indicate the tone that word has.
中文 means ‘the chinese language’ and it’s pinyin is ‘zhōngwén’. If you’ve studied pinyin, you should know that 中文 is pronounced ’ djong wen ’ with the flat tone and de rising tone.
