My daughter and I enjoyed ourselves at the zoo, although my granddaughter clearly preferred the children’s area with its climbing frames and slides. We could have saved ourselves £40 had we taken her to the playground in Regent’s Park…

It’s funny how kids don’t always like what you think they will. You fix a special food you think they’ll like, and they won’t even taste it. You give them a special gift, and they play with the box or wrapping that it came in. I think the unpredictability of kids is something that makes them very dear to our hearts!

Yes, at least until they become teenagers. After that it’s a constant balancing act!
