Could you tell me what it means - to have a lot of input?

Im not an English native speaker but i hope it helps:

INPUT: thats when you are LISTENING OR READING, on the foreign language (here you are absorbing the language)

OUTPUT: thats when you are TALKING OR WRITING on the foreign language (here you must produce the language YOURSELF)

So to have “a lot of input” it basicly means to have a lot “of listening and reading” on the target language.
