Great dictionary for “minor/less studied/obscure languages

In the past couple of days, I have been downloading mini stories in less studied languages. I started to wonder about dictionaries as one of the criteria for me to study a language is to have a good dictionary.

The one below has English dictionary for among others Bulgarian, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Estonian, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Romanian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovene, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese and the three continental Scandinavian languages.

I can’t vouch for the validity of all the languages but I did check out Swedish and Finnish with the word good. What really makes it the mother load of dictionaries is that it has common expressions and idioms as well.

I really liked this dictionary.
Thanks a lot  I was looking for a dictionary which support my native language.

I had found a bookmarklet which opens a new window to selected language just as lingq do, but you need to select the word. You can select the word next to speaker in lingq
I had adapted it for hungarian-english. and i left the developers name to live his legacy
Maybe one day ling team will add this dictionary to dictionary list.

I do like the layout of this dictionary.

For studying Dutch, however, I would have to recommend Van Dale:

as well as Woorden and Mijnwoordenboek:

i like the fact they also have a small grammar reference too at least for the languages i checked on

On a similar vein, here’s a pronunciation dictionary (this link for Bulgarian but there are other languages). Not sure if this can somehow be attached to Lingq.com for text-to-speech.

you can use forvo extension. If you dont want to see its little pop up when you double click a text, you can restrict the extension internet access only in lingq, or you can close it in its settings
