Good text scanner for windows

Does anyone know of a good text scanner for windows? I have some ebooks which can only be opened in locked files and I can´t scan them with my mobile accurately.

In Windows, you can find the built-in App 'Windows Fax and Scan".

Thanks Erik! However I am not clear on how would I extract text from an ereader? Is there an instructional you have seen, or does it involve making a screen shot?
UPDATE - I managed to do it using one note. Quite easy, thanks!

Oh, so you want to get the txt from an e-book (.epub, .mobi, or similar)?

Have a look at: (calibre - Download calibre)
I have used this to convert e-books into the correct format for my Kindle, but have not yet used it to convert to .txt
