Japanese learners and Japanese LinqQ users – Do you know of any good sites with high-quality reading material in Japanese? Specifically, essays, analysis, commentary, or short stories?
The best I know of is Wired Japan and (sometimes) Newsweek Japan because the underlying content is relatable even to non-Japanese like myself (I find Japanese local and national news to be rather boring). I also tried Monogatari for the short stories, but the quality was inconsistent since the content is from amateurs and the material is not professionally edited.

I’ve stumbled upon this site, that has comprehensible input material for a lot of languages, you might want to take a look. Also this exists.

If you are at an advanced level and interested in works from many decades ago, take a look at Aozora Bunko 青空文庫. There is an English language Wikipedia page describing Aozora Bunko, and Aozora Bunko has its own FAQ (frequently asked questions) page.
