Gibberish imported from the new suggested articles and paging moves to known as off is not working

Hi,

This article Depeche Mode: Sie lieben und sie hassen sich - DER SPIEGEL was in the lessons feed to import and so I did but what was imported was gibberish, e.g.

“Eboo efs Hfebolf; Jtu kb fjhfoumjdi opdi wjfm cfttfs/ Xboo ibu nbo tdipo Hfmfhfoifju- nju {xfj Xfmutub”

  • this was in Safari Version 9.1 (11601.5.17.1). This might have to do with the fact that when I visit that url part of the article in unavailable and there’s an option to buy the article but I still think that it’s something that should be handled.

The other, much more annoying, issue is that as I paged through the pages to see if there was any actual content, everything was moved to known… even though the option “Paging moves to known” is off. If you could delete all those words that were added that would be great because my total count is now up about 2k and so my stats are all off kilter  I’m also hoping that those gibberish words don’t appear in the lingq review either since they’re known but not sure… So please could you take a look at this?

Thanks, and do keep up the good work!

The “Spiegel” has free articles and articles that are not free. This is an article from “Spiegel plus” which is not free and behind a paywall. You see Gibberish because they use a very simple system to hide/unhide the text.

Yes, thank you, that’s true. Would still be nice that lingq could detect that somehow as I said in the post. Maybe most sites use the same techniques and these could be automatically detected.
By the way, read a lot of your lessons Vera, so thanks a lot for you effort

Thank you  I’m glad that you like my lessons. For Firefox there is an Add available called “Spiegel minus” that will help you. I don’t know if LingQ’s automatic import works on this, but you can manually import the article instead.

Unfortunately there’s no such extension for Safari but installed it in Firefox and imported the article manually. Vielen Dank!

Gern geschehen
