Try to refresh the page. It sounds pretty obvious, but it has helped some of the members (me as well). In fact, its technical effect is clearing some part of cache which is pretty much the same what Cloud1241 suggests (but some browsers would require you to do a refreshing several times to get rid of cache for the page).
If it doesn’t help, clearing all of the cache would probably work for you as a more radical solution.

It works on my side too now. But I miss the “X” (Ups!) for words that I didn’t know. The “ESC” is not as convenient for my fingers as the “x”.
Flash cards are now giving me the phrase I have saved for the Lingq instead of the hint.

Guess it helps when I actually read the thread. Clearing the cache has worked. Thank you.
@VeraI - We changed the key to “Esc” in order to make sure there was no confusion between the “x” key as an “Oops” function and the “X” on the status widget (as 1, 2, 3 and 4 change the status).
