Failure importing audio files for transcription (NOT YouTube)

In the time I’ve been a subscriber here I have uploaded literally hundreds of audio files for transcription, and most of the time it has worked flawlessly. This allowed me to read along with the audio, just as promised. Kudos.

Once in a while I would get an error/failure to import message. In those rare times I would delete and try again, always successfully.

In the last week or so I have been running into failure to import messages fairly often, and in the last few days importing audio files for transcription has been failing completely. I am NOT talking about the ongoing issues with importing directly from YouTube, though that sucks too.

I am jumping through the hoops of providing audio files manually – none of which are over 60 MB in size. (Though I see that the limit has now been upped to 200 MB.) This process was working fine a week ago – same computer, same 3 browsers, functioning audio files from the same source – and now it has stopped working for me. The transcription of my last “successful” import was so garbled as to be unusable. After that, nothing.

I am on a Windows PC using Google Chrome, Brave, and Firefox browsers. The site is working normally for me otherwise. This is getting really frustrating. The reason I bought a subscription was so that I could import material that was appropriate to my comprehension level and that interested me. I am on here every day, usually for hours a day.

I’ve been checking the forums here for a week to see if anyone else has reported anything similar, with no joy. Please fix this. I’m not interested in buying some 3rd party software to make your site work properly.

Thank you.

Great news, @zoran – it’s working again!

I have a similar problem with Chinese being imported incorrectly in simplified form instead of traditional. I reported it 20 days ago and it has not yet been fixed.

We are still working on it and we hope to push a fix very soon.

AI import failing or wrong transcript (Audio) (MP3 converted and splitted from a dubbed movie) => (Russian)
I am trying to import some files but every time it writes some words wrong or sometimes failing. (I splitted a 3 hour movie (audio) to 30 minutes or similar mp3 files) (Movie with russian dub originally in some asian language.) but even first part I did 3 or 4 times (failure to import and even not fail it did not get some of the sentences) and now for second part I get pending error and then failed import.

I’m replying to this (September 2024 post) because I didn’t wanted to open new topic.
