I am looking for few famous European Spanish podcasts for my inactive listening. I like them to be famous , general or comedy. I am total beginner however I do not looking for beginner material for podcast. I like to put 30min to 1 hour to inactive listening like a baby. I will do 1 hour of lingq course materials.
I would also love some recommendations of interesting Spanish podcasts, for non-learners I am intermediate/low advanced though. My level depends on the subject, I guess. If anyone has recommendations for podcasts that talk about culture or politics from interesting perspectives, let me know…no right wing stuff please. News is good too but I don’t like it when the host is hectoring the audience. I don’t care if they are European or Latin American.
However, if you are a total beginner I recommend you listen to learner podcasts, like Spanish with Juan. You will get more out of input that is comprehensible and native podcasts will be mostly incomprehensible. It will sound like gibberish. I know Matt from Refold says you can listen any level but listening to native podcasts as a complete beginner seems bit boring /a waste of time to me. You might pick up the rhythms of the language but not the content. Babies have their parents speak to them in baby talk so IMO beginner podcasts are more like a baby

Awesome help,Thx
Hi,
Thank you for your lists!
I realized I said the wrong podcast, I was thinking of Dreaming Spanish which is on YouTube (maybe it’s in podcast format as well.) However Spanish with Juan is on here. I am not sure where Juan is from to be honest
Another good podcast is Spanish Language Coach. He has intermediate and advanced versions of his podcast. It is hosted by Cesar who is from Spain.
Another YouTube channel a lot of people like is Spanish After Hours. The host is very charming and also from Spain. These are all learner resources though (some intermediate, some beginner.)
Personally, I don’t think it matters if you listen to European or latin american Spanish – Steve did a video on this : Mexican Spanish vs. Spain Spanish - YouTube
But of course, you can do as you like as it is your choice!
I just listened to an Español con Juan Youtube Video and his accent sounds Spanish to me. Plus he uses vosotros which some Latin Americans don’t do
May I ask why you’ve specified European? When you’re a beginner, it really doesn’t matter what region of Spanish you listen to. If it’s specifically for ‘vosotros’ then that’s something that can wait. You’ll hear that verb form enough eventually so it’s not something that requires ‘nailing down’ or anything like that.
The reason I say this is because the Radio Ambulante podcast is a fantastic resource. I’m pretty sure you can find full transcripts for each episode too. Think Latin American ‘This American Life.’ That’s basically what it is.
For start you have to pick one. For English , I picked American accent, now after many your I understand wide variaty accents. I have a plan to go and live in Madrid and Barcelona for 2 years. For the moment I do not know about those verbs that you are talking about however , I heard stuff about them while I was searching.

Juan is from the south of Spain, I don’t remember exactly from where, something around Sevilla, Malaga, Córdoba, Granada. If I remember correctly. In any case he is from Spain.

I agree, this is a fantastic resource, awesome stories.
I like to listen to La Cafetera for discussions on Spanish news and politics. It’s intended for native speakers not learners.
