Epub import error: "This file is corrupted, empty or file type is not supported. Please check the file and try again."

I have been trying to upload three epub files I got from Rakuten Kobo. Using Calibre i removed the DRM but for some reason I keep getting this error:

“This file is corrupted, empty or file type is not supported. Please check the file and try again.”

I have tried converting them to PDF but all that happens is the pages get uploaded to Lingq as images without any text so it is useless to me. Is there any solution?

Try seeing if it’s possible to copy text from the ePub and paste it into the lesson manually?

Not possible it seems…

If you cannot copy text out of the ePub, then neither can LingQ. So something went wrong with the decrypting. I use Epubor for that because I wasn’t successful with Calibre.

You can send over one of the PDF files to support@lingq.com and I’ll take a look into it.

Hello, turns out the three epubs are just scans, guess the publisher was too lazy to have them put into the proper format so I have to use OCR to get the text off of them. Problem solved! Thanks!
