Enable Import of SRT-File Over Existing Lesson

When importing from YouTube with subtitles, sentences are often broken into screen-sized lines rather than complete sentences, causing issues with translations, sentence mode navigation, and audio timing.

Proposal: Allow an SRT-file (user-generated) to be imported over the official text of an existing lesson. This would enable:

  • Creating full sentences with custom timestamps
  • Getting per-sentence translations instead of per-fragment translations
  • Keeping all other lesson parameters (course, etc.) from the original import
  • No need to import SRT as a separate book with no control over lesson parameters

This feature would be optional, so users who don’t want to overwrite their lesson text wouldn’t be affected.

Agree this would be incredibly useful. There are many anime subtitles in Japanese that could be imported and synched to video or audio - typically youtube subtitles are in English.

Editing the timestamps is painful and the timestamp AI does a terrible job if there is BGM
