July was a relatively quiet month for changes at LingQ, as we are focused on some longer term projects at the moment. However, there were some small improvements and a variety of bug fixes pushed, as usual.
On web you can now set a custom streak target. That was a feature that had been requested for quite some time, we are happy to be able to add it now. You will find it in your General Settings for your streak. And that ability to customize your streak targets should be available on both the Android and iOS apps before too long.
We also updated the Safari browser extension for PC to include recent import integrations for Prime, TikTok, Instagram and Apple TV. Those were previously only available for Chrome, Firefox and Edge.
As well, the Skritter integration for exporting Chinese and Japanese words to Skritter to practise writing them there has been added to Android and should be added to iOS soon.
For those of you studying Japanese who would like to adjust word boundaries or the way in which we automatically split Japanese text into words, you can now customize the requirements or prompt that you would like in the settings. Go to your reader settings and then the general section in the web version to put in your custom prompt. You may also be interested in some suggested prompts from other users who have already been enjoying this feature.
Finally, many of you will be seeing a message from Lynx when you complete lessons, encouraging you and hopefully giving you useful advice. This is an early iteration of this feature and we will be continuing to work on improving it and making it more customized for you. We hope we have some interesting iterations coming for the lesson complete comment and Lynx in general over the next few months.
