That’s not what I have meant. What I was trying to say is that there is an additional amount of work required by the students in addition to the language courses. Expecting to learn a language just by sitting in a course might not work that well.
In German it is called Vorlesung. The lecture isn’t supposed to be a teacher, but someone giving an overview. The student is expected to learn themselves. Thus, at least when studying to make a diploma, you are not obliged to participate at the lecture. It’s just an offer.
But as said, my intention wasn’t to compare this to language courses content or procedure wise.
