Could someone explain why one of two sentences is incorrect?

Russian friends have told me the the second of these two sentences is grammatically incorrect, but I haven’t gotten an explanation I understand. Any help? Thanks.

Новогодний концерт, транслировавшийся по телевидению, закончился поздно ночью.

Новогодний концерт, транслированный по телевидению, закончился поздно ночью.

There are 2 more correct variants:

Новогодний концерт, который транслировался по телевидению, закончился поздно ночью.

Новогодний концерт, который транслировали по телевидению, закончился поздно ночью.

I would say, the concert was long, that is why it is used with -ся.

I have never seen the word транслированный. It looks too complicated, although it reminds a word переданный, which can be used here instead. I cannot explain why gramatically similar looking words may not be used equally. Maybe because the translation is a foreign word.

Thanks. I guess my question is how to understand the difference between a reflexive past active participle and a non-reflexive past passive participle.

Hey, I’m a Russian native speaker and for me both sentences seem grammatically correct. OK, I have to admit I never learned Russian grammar as a foreigner
