Thank you both of you for the nice comments. I hope to add more lessons soon.
Rae, it is great how much you do. And I love to work on different levels too. I often listen to MP3 when I’m doing housechores.
I guess my goals differs a bit from yours. My main goal is to be able to communicate well in English. Your choice of material includes content that would not be my first choice because with this kind of material I would not learn the phrases, the vocabulary and the grammar structures I need.
Be aware that the German wikipedia unfortunately is often written in a technical language. In German we have developed a way to describe technical issues in a way that is often quite different form the spoken language. Encyclopaedias and manuals are often written this way. But if you like this and if you keep in mind that this is not the spoken language its fine.
Thanks Vera. I pick and choose a bit with Wikipedia. If it is about a subject which I have to use in my teaching, meaning chemistry, physics or related topics, I can usually cope. Often, however, I just pick a descriptive paragraph or two, such as history, and ignore the rest.
I also listen to science podcasts. Again, I am somewhat familiar with many of the topics.
