After I lingq several words together as a phrase I am unable to get a translation of the component words of the phrase when I hover over them. Is there a way to check the meaning of individual words while retaining the phrase lingq?

Unfortunately there is not. Therefore it is best to develop the habit of saving words first. I often go through a text first using QuickLingQs and then go back and save phrases.
