Cannot select/copy text from lessons

Hi everyone,
I’ve just signed up for a free account here at LingQ, and am working my way through the Czech versions of the LingQ mini stories.

I am trying to create a resource that I can use when I don’t have internet access, so am downloading the dialogs, and attempting to create a document with the full text of the stories, both in English & Czech.

I am having difficulties copying (or even selecting) the transcript of the stories. I can click the button to show full text or a translation on the right hand panel. When I show the translation, I am able to select and copy the entire text, but when I show the original full text, I cannot select anything, and so cannot copy it.

I have tried with some other Czech lessons, and have the same issue.

Is this an intended limitation of the system, a known bug, or am I just being stupid?!?

Any help would be most appreciated!

Below is an example story with which I am having this issue:

If you show the Full Text on the right, you should be able to copy-paste from there. I just tested on my end and copy-pasting works fine on Chrome. Which browser are you using?

Thanks for the reply.

I have just tried this again, and it still doesn’t work for me. The issue is that I cannot select the text. My cursor remains as an arrow, rather than turning to a text select cursor.
I am using Chrome Version 95.0.4638.69 on Windows 10.
I do use AdBlockPro, but have whitelisted the entire LingQ domain.

I have just tried this using Firefox on the same PC, and on Chrome using a different PC, and they all behave the same way. I can select & copy the translation, but I cannot select, and therefore cannot copy the Full Text.

Ahh, sorry, I missed that you mentioned that your account is on the Free level.
Yes, Free accounts are limited and can’t copy-paste the Full Text at the moment.

Fair enough, thanks for the info! :+1:

“…at the moment.” - Does that imply that this might change sometime soon? :crossed_fingers::smiley:

It’s unlikely that it will change in the near future, sorry!
