I am trying to upload mp3 audio just so i would be able to add time stamps on it but i am not able to do that, it uploads the audio but when i try to save it, the message in red under the audio appears that it is not supported format.
Could anyone help me out with it?

I have had this issue as well today. What I have noticed is, that if I download a Youtube video mp4 through Y2mate - Free YouTube to Mp3 & Mp4 Converter to a mp3 format and try to upload it in the lesson I get the same error. I tried re-converting the mp3 into mp3 again with https://convertio.co and they all worked. Very strange how I have to double convert into the same format.

I’m using the site https://ytmp3.cc/ to create the mp3 file from this youtube video: Germans’ Favorite Life Hacks | Easy German 459 - YouTube
When I upload the mp3 file it says it’s not in a supported format. I’ve used the ytmp3.cc site many times in the past without issue, but potentially something wrong with what they are producing? It plays fine on my computer.
