[BUG] Japanese re-split modifies sentence quotes

Description.

Re-splitting in Japanese modifies:

『 into «
』 into »
「 into "
」 into 「 (this one especially is awful)

How to reproduce:

  1. Import a lessons with this text:
『毎度』

毎度『毎度』

『毎度』毎度

毎度『毎度』毎度

『毎度、お騒がせしております。パンにお米もございます』

「わからないね」

、「わからないね」

、「わからないね」と言っていた。

 こころは「わからないね」と言っていた。

 こころは、「三河のおじさんももう年だから、あと何年来てくれるかわからないね」と言っていた。
  1. Edit lesson and confirm that the quote marks ARE CORRECTLY DISPLAYED.
  2. Click on re-split
  3. Confirm that the text became

毎度 « 毎度 »

« 毎度 » 毎度

毎度 « 毎度 » 毎度

« 毎度 、 お 騒がせ して おります。 パン に お米 も ございます »

「 わからない ね 」

、 " わからない ね 「

、 " わからない ね 「 と 言って いた。

こころ は 「 わからない ね 」 と 言って いた。

こころ は 、 " 三河 の おじさん ももう 年 だ から 、 あと 何年 来て くれる か わからない ね 「 と 言って いた。

Notes:

I’m quite confident that this split bug existed even before you guys started using ichimoe. I tried the same sentences in their site and they display correctly.

The 」 into 「 seems to appear only on special cases, for instance I was able to trigger it by prefacing it with a Japanese comma.

I’m at least thankful that you pointed this out, I was uploading a book chapter by chapter and had already ran re-split in the first few. Fortunately I saw your post soon enough. I hope this issue gets acknowledged soon.

It was my bad posting this in the Open Forum instead of the Support & Feedback one.

The bug is still there and I was able to replicate it with the same steps described above. Any update?

That status is for sure taking its time :smiley:

I wouldn’t be so stubborn if I didn’t know that people are actually running the resplit command on some of my courses effectively ruining (unknowingly) the punctuation.

I really want to use it everywhere, the segmentation seems way better, but this is still a huge drawback…
