Hey I’m loving LingQ. Best language app I’ve used, hands down. I’m here to report a bug.
Expected behavior:
Study time = time spent listening + time spent reading
Actual behavior:
I’ve studied for about 3 hours today on the web app, but today it says I’ve studied over 50 hours in the last 24 hours (!)
Reproduction steps:
I’m not sure. I felt like I was just using LingQ pretty normally. What I’ve done today:
- listen to audio on the iOS app.
- read on the iOS app.
- read on the web app.
- import a few lessons from text and generate ai audio on the web app.
Here is what my stats look like over the last 24 hours:
What would I like to happen?
- If I could get a support member to fix my time spent for today that would be great. I’m not sure how this time is tracked internally. If there is an anomalous data entry in the database for >47 hours, then that should be deleted. If it helps, I’d estimate that I’ve studied for about 2-3 hours today.
- Obviously if the bug could be identified and fixed that would be great.
Bonus request:
Total study time is my favorite and most motivating metric by far, which is unfortunately only available on the web app. Even though most of my study is on the iOS app, I find myself checking the web app many times per day just to see my total hours in the language.
Coins are pretty meaningless to me. Words known aren’t that meaningful since Turkish has so many inflections, where each are counted as each word (though I understand why Steve prefers counting fully inflected/conjugated words over lemmas). I love seeing hours as my “leading indicators” because it tells me "you’re roughly X/1100 hr to achieving B2 according to the FSI.
