Brexit and U.K universities

Temper, temper!

@Yutaka: “…Do you have a good idea?..”

Rehydrate your mind with the sweet nectar of nativism!

Eschew moderation!

Embrace populism!

:-0

“Nativism is the political policy of promoting the interests of native inhabitants against those of immigrants. However, this is currently more commonly described as an anti-immigrant position. In scholarly studies nativism is a standard technical term. “—-Wikipedia

Does the word “native” signify the same meaning in “native speaker” and “native inhabitant”? Or does, for example, “native inhabitants” in the US refer only to “native Americans”? It seems that some native inhabitants are more “native” than others.

There seems to be several kinds of sweet nectar. Some are more toxic than others. Take care!

Perhaps nativism mixed with bulging eyed atavistic rage becomes sweet? :smiley:

“His [Emmanuel Todd‘s] theory is that the rise in Islamophobia is in turn stoking antisemitism in run-down suburbs, and that antisemitism is growing in the middle class."
Emmanuel Todd: the French thinker who won’t toe the Charlie Hebdo line

Nativism seems to be no more related to What Prinz calls “bulging eyes” than antisemitism is related to sunken eyes.

Yes, but I think I can still detect worrying signs of orthodoxy and moderation in your scribblings.

Desist!

You must tap into your baser and more primitive emotions!

Despise group outsiders!

Only then can you truly show fanatical and unconditional loyalty to his majesty the Emperor! :slight_smile:

@Yutaka
This one’s specially for you, Ducky! :smiley: Deputy governor sorry for calling economy 'menopausal' - BBC News

“…The Bank of England’s deputy governor has apologised for saying the UK economy is entering a “menopausal” era.
Ben Broadbent used the phrase in an interview with the Daily Telegraph to describe economies that were, in his words, “past their peak, and no longer so potent”…”

Past their peak! Ha! Simply delightful, isn’t it? :smiley:

“…Later he said he was sorry for the “poor choice of language” and the “offence caused”.
He said productivity affected “every one of us, of all ages and genders”…”

Apologising to these shrivelled old harridans is a waste of breath, because they’re coming for him anyway. Instead he should have doubled the hell down, shouldn’t he?

“…But his comments sparked a backlash…”

See what I mean!? See what I MEAN!!?

"…Sarah Smith, professor of economics at Bristol University, told the BBC they were “not useful”. “It conveys a rather derogatory view of women. I’ve never thought of the menopause as not productive,” she said.
Carolyn Fairbairn, director-general of the CBI, called it a “poor choice of words” that distracted from the real issue at hand.
Jayne-Anne Gadhia, boss of Virgin Money UK, said: “When I read this I thought about my own menopause and was sure he meant that the future is hard work, challenging, renewing, worth fighting for, 100% positive and constantly HOT!”
And TUC general secretary Frances O’Grady said: “There’s no need to resort to lazy, sexist comments to describe problems in the economy.”

Yadda yadda yadda.

They are a bunch of whinging dry shrivelled old bats, aren’t they? :smiley:

Prinz used the following expressions:
“these shrivelled old harridans”,
“whinging dry shrivelled old bats”.

I wonder if not only Prinz but also other “patriotic” UKIP supporters use these expressions.

Ben Broadbent seems to have talked about the U.K. economy, but Prinz is talking about what Prinz calls “shriveled old harridans”.

I do indeed share your sexism :slight_smile:

We are very politically incorrect, aren’t we? :slight_smile:

@Yutaka

I’ve been thinking, I reckon we should start a new international movement: Masculinism! :smiley:

(=an aggressive assertion of the natural and obvious superiority of males in all fields of human activity and endeavour other than childcare, laundry and cookery.)

BTW
Yutaka babes, if you want an excellent real-world example of a “shrivelled whinging old harridan”, try the mugshot of Simona Sharoni in this article:

Seriously, you couldn’t make these people up, could you?

A professor (lol) in a cranky far-left pseudo-field: sour, bitter, unsmiling, unwomanly, utterly devoid of humour, mean spirited, looking for offence, and (quell surprise!) a cynical little fibber who is ready to change basic details so as to “enhance” a complaint.

(I would say “f___ her!” But I doubt someone desperate enough to do that could afford the sheer volume of brandy and lube that would be needed to go through with it…)
