I wonder if anyone can advise me on which of these two books to buy?:

The linguist: a personal guide to language learning/Kaufmann (2003)
or
The way of the linguist: a language learning Odyssey/Kaufmann (2005)?

Is the second book just a newer version of the first?
Or do the two books complement each other?

The Linguist is the original book. The Way of The Linguist is a revised version of the original book and is slightly longer. Both books are essentially the same so you needn’t buy both.
