Bizarre behavior - "show translation" and popup definitions

So. I open my lesson this morning, in sentence mode, click “show translation” for one of the sentences, and get this:

Actual meaning: (I think) - Cheeks are the place that shows a person’s beauty (thanks to Google Translate).

Eh???

Editing to add another example:
(Google Translate gives this text as: 13『The sprouts you planted became pomegranate orchards with beautiful fruits, impatiens and nard trees.)

Hitting “refresh” (next to “hide/show translation”) I get a new translation, all right:

13 ‘The mandrakes send out their fragrance, and at our door is every delicacy, both new and old, that I have stored up for you, my beloved.’

Very strange…

Edited to add:
The popup definitions were also really odd this morning. The word and definition that popped up were not what I clicked on but something completely different; however, I haven’t been able to replicate that now. So maybe it was a fluke or maybe it has been fixed.

have you tried chatgpt for translations? I find google translate hopeless.

In my experience, Google Translate is a lot more “basic” and repeatable than DeepL or ChatGPT, both of which can sometimes be too clever by half.

It may depend on the language, but usually Google Translate is immensely helpful even if not perfect; sometimes I do have to break a sentence up into smaller parts or look up individual words.
