Batch Importing, Instagram Import, New Lesson Complete

Over the past six weeks, we’ve shipped a mix of meaningful improvements and bug fixes across Web, iOS, and Android. This release focuses on smoother importing, a better end-of-lesson experience, stronger offline reliability, and lots of reader and playback fixes.

Web

  • A Batch Import option is now available, making it easier to bulk import lesson files into LingQ. Text, audio and image files can be imported all at once. Now’s the time to import that audiobook you’ve been wanting to read!
You can find this option in the import lesson button drop down. Drag the files you would like to import as a batch into the import dialog and the system will match them up, allow you to confirm and then manage your imported lessons.

  • We added Instagram import support for the Browser Extensions.

  • We improved content discovery in the Library, including better “What’s New” and news shelf recommendations, especially for smaller languages.

  • Transliteration support is now better for right-to-left languages.

  • Known word indicators on profiles are now interactive.

  • We fixed several tutoring timezone issues that could cause incorrect calendar times or booking failures.

  • We fixed a range of lesson and reader issues, including apostrophe rendering and word status behavior.

  • We also fixed cases where deleted or inaccessible lessons could still appear in search, the Library, or Lynx.

iOS

  • We launched the new Lesson Complete experience on iOS.
  • Offline streak tracking and syncing are now more reliable, especially over longer offline periods.
  • We improved YouTube and subtitle importing, including better handling of auto-generated captions.
  • We fixed several reader issues, including accidental audio playback and problems with “paging moves to known.”
  • We fixed multiple video lesson bugs, including replay, seek, and playback reset issues.
  • We improved localization in the app, including fixes for untranslated interface elements.

Android

  • We launched the new Lesson Complete experience on Android.
  • Offline streak tracking and syncing are now more reliable.
  • We continued upgrading the Android app interface with the Reader and Vocabulary pages integrated into the new UI system.
  • We fixed a number of reader and sentence mode bugs including meanings missing under some conditions.
  • Playback and listening progress are now more reliable, including fixes for playlist continuation, karaoke autoplay, and sync accuracy.
  • We fixed several layout and usability issues on tablets and in landscape mode.

As always we look forward to your feedback!
